Council of Fennas Drúnin

The Game

Council of Fennas Drúnin is set in Tolkien's Middle-earth, in the town of Fennas Drúnin. All game events take place during a meeting of the Town Council, which has been convened to decide the fate of one Yasmin, the Foreigner, who stands accused of theft and murder.

Players take the role of Council members or townsfolk who have a particular interest in the case. The game runs for about four hours and ends when the Council resolves all the issues before it. The game is written for 16 players, with 10 players taking the roles of Council Memebers, five playing members of the town and one playing the acused herself.

History

Council of Fennas Drúnin had its first full run at the Short Tales convention during June 1999 and was run twice more, once in the US (at Intercon XV) in 2000 and again in the UK (at Fallcon) in 2001.

After an eight year break, Council of Fennas Drúnin was run twice (on the same day!) in Chicago in October 2009 as part of Brit Invasion II. It was then run in October the following year in Madison, Wisconsin and again at Intercon L in March 2012, 12 years after its first appearance there! Then, after a break of more than 10 years, it made its UK return at Consequences.
